all things lepard

It’s been two weeks–and we haven’t broken him yet…

This is london Today, we met Chris and David for breakfast at Joe’s Coffee Shop in downtown Austin. Tom screamed the whole way down there, but we found a parking spot and gave him at least two cows worth of milk before heading to the café. He slept happily through our breakfast and our browsing through some stores on 2nd Street. In one store, Mercury, I found a book called “This Is London” by M. Sasek—the cover tells me it is a children’s classic and the drawings were fun so I decided to buy it for Tom. I realized that this is probably the first thing I’ve actually bought for him (apart from essentials like diapers and formula). Chris and I have been having too much fun trying all the outfits and toys we’ve received thanks to the generosity of all our family and friends. We haven’t had time (or the need) to buy him pressies ourselves.

Chris & TomOne of our initial concerns when we found out about Tom was that our social life would disappear. I think we’ve spent the last two weeks overcompensating for that fear! So far, Tom has visited the following places/events: Target; neighborhood happy hour; the Dog and Duck pub; Blue Star Café; El Chile’s restaurant; Joe’s Coffee Shop; Room Service (vintage store where Chris and David work); and Whole Foods. I think that’s more places than I went to in the last three months! Tonight, we’re heading out to Threadgill’s to meet up with some work colleagues/friends, but we’re only staying for a few minutes as I’m rather proud of how I’ve been able to disconnect myself from the office—thank god for Krystal and the rest of the crew and their masterful ability to takeover so I don’t have to worry about a thing.

After all todays excitement, Tom and Chris just couldn’t keep up…
